PSI introduced a Top Fuel version of both our crank hub and crank trigger degree wheel. Racers using the inboard-style crank support in Top Fuel and Funny Car were experiencing galling. The crank hub would split and weld itself to the cam drive gear. PSI’s solution is to integrate the inner face of the roller bearing into the crank hub. The increased wall thickness eliminates the splitting problem and the unique heat treatment process prevents it from galling to the crankshaft. The inboard support degree wheel fits on this crank hub and contains magnets for crank triggering. A nice feature is that it has access holes for the support housing bolts. It specifically is not lightened with ribs to prevent early failures. |
